Unveiling the New Game Modes in Rune Seeker Beta Test!

Hello, Rune Seekers. A Unit's combat power is boosted not only by gears, but also by its evolution potential. This article means to give you more insights into the Evolution System in Rune Seeker.

1. Campaign

Campaign is Rune Seeker's main PvE game mode. Players can experience the storyline through battles at Campaign, and receive many attractive rewards.

Campaign mode has 3 difficulty settings for players to experience: Easy, Normal, and Hard.

2. Expedition

Expedition is another PvE game mode of Rune Seeker. Players must bring 5 owned Heroes equipped with Runes to participate in this mode (however, there is still a maximum of 3 Heroes participating in each match, as usual). After that, the player will be placed on a map generated completely randomly by the system. The player's goal is to overcome challenges and matches on the map, trying to progress as far as possible.

a) Rules

Some basic game rules of this mode are as follows:

  • Players can participate in this mode at any time and as many times as they want.

  • During the game, players can collect different types of items to increase the power of their army. These items are only available during that Expedition run. Specifically, the items that can be collected are:

    • New Runes, in addition to the Runes you already brought with you.

    • Relics, which are blessings/buffs from the system. Relics are divided into 3 types based on their rarity: common, rare, and epic.

    • Potions, which are single-use items used in specific situations.

    • Obol, the currency of this game mode, used to buy items at the Shop or in some specific situations.

  • Hero's health is only partially restored after each match. However, players can also restore their Hero's health through activities such as resting at the Bonfire.

  • An Expedition run concludes either when all of the player's Heroes have been executed or when the player chooses to abandon the run.

  • Upon completing an Expedition run, players receive a certain number of rating points based on their progress. The farther they advance on the map, the more points they earn. Higher rating points yield greater rewards.

b) Map

The Expedition map consists of path tiles shrouded in darkness. Players require Light Fuel to illuminate and unlock each path tile, enabling them to navigate through the map and encounter various situations and events.

The maximum amount of Light Fuel a player can accumulate is 72. Illuminating each path tile consumes 1 Light Fuel, and players will regain 1 Light Fuel every 10 minutes.

3. Wave Defense

Wave Defense is another PvE game mode in Rune Seeker. In Wave Defense, you only need to play one battle. However, in this battle, you will have to withstand waves of enemies appearing consecutively. Your goal is to fight and overcome as many waves as possible. The more waves you conquer, the greater the reward you receive.

a) Rules

Every 12 hours, players receive a free ticket to participate in Wave Defense. The maximum number of tickets a player can receive is 2. You need to bring 3 of their Heroes and do not need to equip the Rune. Runes are randomly provided by the system to players in this mode.

Additionally, enemies in Wave Defense also have the ability to use Runes like you.

Note that your Heroes will not be healed between waves.

b) Daily conditions

Every day, the system will randomly select and apply 1 favorable condition and 1 unfavorable condition. These conditions are displayed on the main interface of Wave Defense so players can clearly understand them before deciding to participate.

5. The Tower

As another PvP game mode, the Tower differs from the Arena in that the opponent's squad will be controlled by the game's AI.

In the Tower interface, players will encounter a list of 20 opponents ranked higher or closest to their own ranking. You can challenge them, and if successful, you will claim their rank for yourself. Your chances of victory will depend on the selection of Heroes and Runes you deploy in the Tower battles.

Every day, players are granted 5 opportunities to challenge opponents in the Tower. For each successful victory, players receive a Crystal reward. Moreover, players who achieve high rankings in the Tower leaderboard are entitled to additional daily rewards, making Tower battles both challenging and rewarding.
